Our Doctors
mir

Dr. Miranda Jones-Bailey

Dr. Jones-Bailey grew up in Alabama. Her interests in veterinary medicine started with her love for horses. She attended Berry College in Rome, Georgia for her undergraduate studies in chemistry and pre-veterinary medicine. While studying at Berry, she worked at the equestrian center and a local mixed animal hospital, rode on the equestrian team, and participated in several animal related organizations. She graduated with honors in three years and returned to Alabama to pursue her career in veterinary medicine. In 2003, she graduated with honors with a doctorate in veterinary medicine from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating, she practiced small animal medicine in Florida prior to moving to North Carolina. She has worked in several small animal hospitals in the Raleigh area until opening Youngsville Animal Hospital. During her years in small animal practice she developed an interest in orthopedics and animal exercise rehabilitation. In 2014 she completed the University of Tennessee Certificate Program in Canine Physical Rehabilitation.

Dr. Jones-Bailey and her husband, Mike, have a son and daughter. Their extended family includes dogs, cats, horses, and fish. They enjoy spending time outdoors.

Dr. Robert Bakal

Dr. Bakal was born and raised in New York and Florida. He came to North Carolina to attend NC State where he received his bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, and his veterinary degree. Dr. Bakal has over 20 years of experience. His early career was spent working in Fish and Wildlife medicine and he still has a great passion for treating “exotic” animals. His professional interests include exotic animal medicine and surgery, small animal surgery, fear free practice, and preventative care. Outside of work Dr. Bakal likes to spend time with his daughter and 3 step daughters. He has numerous pets including 2 dogs, several snakes, Dart and Tree frogs, and marine aquaria. He enjoys going to area sporting events (Especially NC State), fishing, and woodworking. He is looking forward to meeting all our wonderful clients and their amazing pets.

Our Staff

We like to think our staff is what really sets Youngsville Animal Hospital apart from all the rest!  Our team wants to show you how a family-first approach is how we make your experience the best it can be.

They have 4 children: Ethan, Elyssa, Coleby and Tauny. They also have 4 grandchildren, Cadence, Emeryson, Addy and Chance. Her ‘extended’ family also includes Marvin, their English Mastiff, Mack, their English Bulldog and Alex, a Persian kitty. Her family and her faith is her sanctuary.  Outside of her love of veterinary medicine, her interests include cooking and baking…She loves to feed people and show them love thru her treats! Veterinary Assistant

Growing up, Ashley always knew that she wanted a career within the veterinary field. From a very young age, she has had a love for animals both large and small. Most of her previous experience has been working in the large animal veterinary field but she is excited about being able to assist in any way possible with our patients.

Other than her love for animals, she enjoys being involved in her church, spending time with friends and family, riding horses, or anything outdoors.

Katrice Beasley

Veterinary Assistant

Katrice has been working in the animal field for about 16 years in different areas.  She has a true passion for animals and their well being, whether it’s a stray animal or a turtle trying to cross the road.  Currently she and Mike (her fiancé ) have 6 dogs that they have rescued from different situations and they also have a feral cat colony too.  She volunteers in helping the trap and release program for these wild kitties.  During her free time she likes to go to the lake (with her dogs of course), fishing, going to church, learning new things and just enjoying life.  She is super stoked to be a part of YAH’s team as well as to grow and learn with them.

Kaitlyn Coggins-O’Neal

Veterinary Assistant

Kaitlyn has always had a passion for animals.  At a young age, she could be seen helping her mother rescue kittens or tending a small livestock farm with her father.  During her time as a child and in the professional field, Kaitlyn has gained valuable experience with animals from all walks of life.  She enjoys spending her free time with her husband Tyler and their four-legged children:  Peppers, Bella, Wookie and Callie.  Kaitlyn also enjoys reading, fishing and volunteering at animal shelters or farms.  She is very excited to help the pets of the community as she grows and learns with the YAH family.

Julie Crawford

Administrative Assistant

Julie grew up in Roanoke, Virginia. She graduated from Bluefield College with a B.A. in Christian Studies. She has 8+ years of experience in Office Administration and Management in various work environments, however, this is her first time working for an animal hospital. Julie had a love for animals at a young age, and grew up with many animals of her own. She spent a lot of time, in her youth, at the barn with her horse. She’s passionate about health and wellness, getting outdoors, and volunteer opportunities in the community. In her free time, she loves to go hiking/backpacking with her husband and two dogs, run, cook, and craft. Julie looks forward to helping our patients and their owners have an enjoyable visit at YAH.
